October Festival of Thoughts

I was thinking of what October brings to light and how our world seems to be in circling motions. In the northern part of the world Autumn begins while in the southern part it is Spring. The month long celebration of the Season of Creation also just came to a close. So with all these thoughts, I offer you this poem.

On a cool and bright October morn,
A conversation between two friends born,
Cozy over coffee, they spoke of life
As outside, the autumn leaves fly.

One voiced a thought aloud,
The other smiled and bowed,
“Scattered wide, we are sparks of starlight
Threads and web of one Life.”

On the other side of the world
Another couple set of eyes aglow,
As spring gives birth to what was sown
Fragrance of flowers in the air blown.

An echo of what was spoken
Sets the conversation unbroken
“When we embrace our colors, our stories ignite.
Together we weave, a mosaic in sight.”

As the seasons gracefully blend
May we encounter all creatures a friend
Every moment blessed
With the knowing we are one, with all the rest.

Reading your reflection again this morning helped slow me down.
Thank you for your poetic words, encompassing both hemispheres of our earth, in one swirling motion, in one swirling moment of earth’s journey around the sun. With a deepening knowing that we are one.
