September 26, 2024:

Sr. Evelyn Green’s 100th birthday was celebrated with a party included an historical accounting of her life, written and presented by Bonnie Dickie. A video of the event was recorded by Sr. Giang Pham RNDM, and we are pleased to present the video as well as Bonnie’s written presentation.

July 2024:

Six international RNDMs who are currently living and working in Canada, participated in a month-long learning event organized by Sr. Giang Pham RNDM.  Below we share with you the highlights of this fruitful Summer Symposium, with reflections written by the paticipants.

June 2024:

In 2023, we RNDMs in Canada marked the 125th anniversary of our arrival in this country. Four brave and adventurous souls—Marie Louise Palatin, Pauline Dutronquoy, Virginie Chapuis and Marie Annoite —arrived in the small prairie village of Grande Clairière MB, in 1898.

May 17, 2024:

This second Zoom was also actualized through a unique collaboration among the Catholic Network for Women’s Equality (CNWE-Western region), Reseau Compassion Network (RCN), the Grey Nuns of Montreal (SGM), and the Sisters of our Lady of the Missions (RNDM).

January 17, 2024:

Sr. Elizabeth Davis (RSM), was one of 54 women voting members at the historic “Synod on Synodality” at the Vatican from October 4-29, 2023.  In this recording of her January 17 presentation, for which 300 persons registered, she speaks of her experience.

January 4 and January 15, 2024:

After celebrating 125 years of RNDM presence in Canada in 2023, RNDMs in Canada took a big step forward in January 2024, welcoming Kyleigh Coad and Anna Murray as our new Community Coordinators.

January 1, 2024:

Sisters and friends gathered together at our new house in Regina, to welcome 2024, to mark the Feast of Mary the Mother of God, and especially to bless this new home which we christened “Spirit Winds”. 

October 4, 2023:

We “accompanied in solidarity” a delegation of Canadians going to the long anticipated Synod which began in Rome on October 4th, by holding a prayer service at the grave of Cardinal Flahiff, a long time supporter of women’s equality in the Church.

September 30, 2023:

Aligned with the 2023 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the members of St Kateri Tekakwitha parish in Winnipeg, celebrated the values of truth and reconciliation when the community gathered for Sunday Eucharist on October 1.

April 24, 2023:

With great joy and celebration, on Monday April 24, 2023, Thi My Dung Nguyen was admitted as a postulant to the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions (RNDM). Several members of My Dung’s family joined her and the Winnipeg RNDM Sisters.

October 5, 2022:

On October 5, 2022, The Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions (RNDM), in collaboration with the Centre Du Patrimoine and the University of Toronto Press launched a history of the RNDMs in Canada. 

March 2022:

When Covid 19 became a world-wide pandemic in March 2020, we had to cancel the mid-March book launch for this just-released history of the RNDMs in Canada.
